Client Spotlight: Mebane Arts & Community Center

The central community meeting place for Mebane, North Carolina residents was in desperate need of a makeover.

The Mebane Arts & Community Center, a 31,000 square foot facility equipped with two basketball courts, a stage, large conference rooms and several all-purpose fields was recently redesigned and upgraded by Gregory Grier to match the vibrant energy of the city of Mebane.

Gregory Grier teamed up with the community center to redecorate the lobby, which sets the first impression for visitors and community members using the space.

The lobby’s walls exhibit artwork from local artists to showcase the Mebane’s vibrant culture and talent.

“Prior to the renovation, we didn’t have furniture in the lobby,” Center Coordinator Amy Pendergraph said. “I think it helps make it a little more inviting and warm.”

Gregory Grier assisted with all parts of the design process—from picking out office furniture, deciding on a new color scheme and design, organizing the lobby’s layout, and seeing the whole project through from start to finish.

“Working with Gregory Grier was a really good experience for us. It started with Cindy working to start on some office furniture and then building upon that,” Pendergraph said.

The new community center lobby boasts warm orange and yellow tones to create a bright and lively ambiance. Comfortable armchairs greet visitors as they enter the community center and the walls are lined with gallery artwork from community artists, exhibiting Mebane’s lively culture and community.

“We couldn’t have asked for anything better,” Pendergraph said. “Cindy was very helpful with all of the samples and ordered them if we needed them and just made it a pleasant experience.”

Gregory Grier loved working with Pendergraph and the rest of the community center to redesign this local NC gathering space. From adding brighter colors to incorporating the work of local talent, Gregory Grier created a space that will positively represent the city of Mebane.
